The Phlebotomy CPT-1 program prepares students to become a Certified Phlebotomist-CPT 1, who will collect blood samples for a variety of reasons, including medical testing, blood transfusion, and blood donation. Students are trained to collect primarily through venipuncture, as well as other methods including finger stick, heel stick, and butterfly needles. Students will also additional clinical and administrative procedures including patient briefing, updating patient records, sterilizing equipment, and taking vital signs.
