Medical Assistant Info

Medical Assistant classes are offered during the Day, Afternoon and Evening.

The Medical Assistant program familiarizes students with theory and hands-on skills necessary for entry-level positions in the medical assistant field. These skills will enable graduates to qualify for work as administrative and clinical assistants, medical record clerks, medical office managers, medical insurance billing clerks, medical receptionists; working directly with physicians. Courses in this program include:

Introduction to Computers: 20 hours

Introduction to Medical Office Procedures: 20 hours

Medical Anatomy and Terminology: 60 hours

Health Care Law and Ethics: 20 hours

Medical Clinical Procedures I: 180 hours

Medical Clinical Procedures II: 140 hours

Medical Billing, Insurance Coding
and Medical Office Software: 90 hours

CPR First Aide: 10 hours

Employment Preparation: 20 hours

Externship: 160 hours
