The Chemical Dependency Counselor classes are held in Days, Afternoons and Evenings.

The Chemical Dependency Counselor program is designed to educate students in the various methods of counseling used in the treatment of drug and alcohol dependency. Students will learn professional techniques which may qualify them for entry-level counseling positions in a wide variety of treatment centers such as, Chemical Dependency Outpatient Counseling Agencies, Hospitals, Rehabilitation Centers, to name a few. Courses in this program include:

Introduction to Computers: 20 hours

Introduction to Medical Office Procedures: 80 hours

Medical Anatomy and Terminology: 40 hours

Pharmacology and Substance Abuse: 80 hours

Treatment Process and Procedures to
Develop a Treatment Pan : 60 hours

Strategies for Assessment : 80 hours

Counseling Process: 130 hours

Client Rights/Ethics : 40 hours

CPR/First Aide : 10 hours

Employment Preparation: 20 hours

Externship: 160 hours
